CLCC – PERFORMING ARTS

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

Performing Arts

1.    To nurture and develop talents in various performances, e.g. Drama, storytelling etc.

2.    To provide opportunities for members to perform in school events.

Calligraphy

1.    To nurture and develop talents in Chinese calligraphy.

2.    To take part in various competitions.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

  •  Values: Love- Sisterly love. Students will be taught to be thoughtful and spare a thought for their fellow    friends through CCA activities, e.g. to always extend a helping hand to help or guide weaker friends.
  •  Freedom: Freedom of speech and thoughts. Students will have the opportunity to voice their thoughts and      feedback few minutes before the end of CCA sessions.
  •  Truth/Justice: Teachers will set a good example not to be judgemental and embrace teachable moments to   ensure a fair disciplinary order.
  •   Leadership training: Students will be identified and selected as Exco members. Senior Exco members will     train younger potential leaders to be future CLCC leaders by sharing their experiences and guiding the           younger leaders.

PROGRAMME/ACTIVITIES

Performing Arts:

Students will be trained to perform waist drums for Chinese New Year. CLCC members will perform two different dramas in 2016: one in Mother tongue week and another drama during Moonlight Party.

Calligraphy:

Students will be taught to master calligraphy skills from basic to advanced levels. Students’ masterpieces will be displayed on notice boards. Selected students will represent our school to take part in various competitions.

BENEFITS

Performing Arts: Students will be able to showcase their talents in waist drums and performing arts, e.g. drama, storytelling with confidence.

Calligraphy: Students will be able to master basic skills and showcase their talents by taking part in various competitions.
