Catholic Club

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  •        To help our members to know, love and live their Catholic faith.
  •        To enable our members to appreciate the beauty and the meaning of the Mass so that they can lead and serve their peers at Mass – in their ministries as greeters, lectors, choir, etc.
  •        To develop aspects of their faith such as virtue, prayer and personal mission so as to form whole persons to lead and serve others with love.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Catholic Club members will be challenged to practise specific virtues in their everyday lives in school and at home - with specific saints as virtuous role models.

As they lead and serve, they will grow in confidence and care for others.

PROGRAMME/ACTIVITIES

  •  A virtues-based programme in which members learn about different virtues (through songs, stories,          activities, art and craft).
  • Members will familiarise themselves with the sung responses for Mass, and prepare the readings and hymns for each Mass so that they can lead and serve their peers at our weekly Mass in school.
  • Social Mission – serve a selected community when possible eg. IJ Village.

BENEFITS

Christ-centred children who:

  •   Are knowledgeable about their Catholic faith.
  •   Can lead and serve at school Masses.
  •   Are aware of, concerned about and committed to loving and serving the less fortunate in the wider community.
